Silvana Malta is a Brazilian singer resident in Denmark. The music genre origins from her home country, but the way of performance definitely makes such classifications of minor importance, as this is the kind of art that becomes universal, because it touches its listeners.
Silvana Malta’s art is comparable with the very best, and we are indeed lucky that she – like many great musicians before her – has chosen to live in Denmark.

Silvana Malta Group is the conductor’s constellation with Danish musicians, and not only are they complimented where ever they perform, but they do certainly also contribute to place Denmark on the musical world map being suppliers of world music in the very best sense of this word.
The result can e.g. be experienced on the group’s latest CD ”Cravo e Canela”, for which their efforts – and indeed well deserved – has lead to a nomination for the best Danish world music CD of the year. This CD has also been released in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and USA.
At present the group is working on a new CD to contain primarily material of their own, and besides you can hear Silvana Malta with “Radioens Big Band” (The Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra) interpret compositions by Torben Westergaard from their next release ”Flôr do Verão”.
Silvana Malta Group has toured in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Brazil and Estonia, and everywhere they have been invited to come back. In June they are signed up for a one week tour in Spain, and shortly after they leave for Canada for another one week’s engagement.

The press wrote:

“international standard”
… these compositions could very well deserve a permanent place in the Brazilian song treasury” Boris Rabinowitsch (Politiken)
“...mastered brilliantly the slightly cool and sensual expression associated with Brazilian vocal art (Berlingske Tidende)

DAS müssen Sie sehen! ...und wir sehen SIE gern.
